There is a new and superb book out on the Chaco war. It has photos complete orders of battle (as complete as can be that is) and of course a battle by battle history.

Typing right now I can't remember the title (!) but this post might engender some comment which this excellent site needs.

Hello,
I know of two books on the war:

Green Hell by Adrian English (just recently published)

The Chaco War by Bruce Farcau (a bit older)

I haven't read either one so I can't give a review but if you have an interest in the war you'll probably want to give both a look.

I have a few books by Adrian English (Janes and an aircraft book), so I ordered the Green Hell book... should be here in a few days.

Yes, Green Hell is the one. An excellent study although the maps are a little of a disappointment.

Amazon has it. :-)

I got my copy... yes the maps are a bit "terrible". Im not sure why. the author has a long history with Janes, so he should have been able to do better than bad scans of someones hand drawn map. Also, the names of the units on both sides are very similar, he should have come up with a better way of represnting them in the maps.

OTher than that, it seems like a great bok so far.
